Stratus Takes On: 80βs Rock
How to easily achieve an 80βs Rock sound, using only three effects.
You can listen to the demo here!
The order of effects is completely up to you; so experiment with the arrangement to align with your vision for the sound. Your guitar/amp and setup will slightly affect the sound.
This guide is an easy way to get a classic 80s rock tone. You can order these as Distortion, Chorus, and Echo. For knob values, refer to our settings shown in the picture above, but feel free to adjust knobs to your own volition.
Our distortion effect, Asteroid, is designed to provide a heavy metal rock sound, so itβs already EXTRA convenient to get an 80s tone. This essential boisterous effect is first in the chain.
Chorus combined with distortion makes for a resonating, intensifying crunchy and coarse sound. The chorus is the critical ingredient in our β80s rock potion, so donβt be afraid to crank it up!
Echo (you could also try delay or reverb) creates a space-filling sound that you can dive into. We are taking our resonating rock sound and adding more space/dimension around it with an echo.
The preset and demo were created by Richie Nobrega Jr., the guitarist also known as NobesMusic. The preset explanation was provided by Kyla of Chaos Audio.
